Where the client instructs the barrister directly he/she will be sent a client care letter, the barrister’s terms and conditions, and the Bar Standard Board Public Access Guidance for Lay Clients.
Solicitor Instruction
Where an instruction comes from a solicitor or other authorised person the terms upon which instruction is accepted are The Standard Contractual Terms For The Supply Of Legal Services By Barristers To Authorised Persons which can be viewed on the Bar Council website. If you are a solicitor or other authorised person and unable to access, locate, or view the terms, then you should use the contact details on this site to request a copy before instructing the barrister.
Complaints
Barristers aim to give all their clients a good service at all times. However, if you have a complaint please get in touch as soon as possible, by telephone or in writing. A copy of the full complaint’s procedure can be provided on request.
